There was a toddler in the car seat. And a gun. Traffic stops lead to two arrests
A traffic stop in north Fresno led to the arrest of two people after police found a loaded firearm in the vehicle — next to a toddler in a car seat.
Christian Castellanos and Xitlalli Cruz were arrested March 29 after being pulled over on Alluvial Avenue as part of gang suppression operation, according to a statement on the Fresno Police Department’s Facebook page.
Castellanos is a West side gang associate, police said. Cruz is the mother of the child.
Both were arrested on suspicion of possession of the firearm and child endangerment. They were booked into Fresno County Jail.
