Man shot near railroad in west Fresno
One man was shot near a railroad tracks on Sunday afternoon, according to Fresno police.
Lt. Joe Alvarez said officers received calls around 2:15 p.m. of a shooting along a railroad tracks on West Channing Way and Franklin Avenue.
Officers found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his arm and upper body. The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical but stable condition, police said.
Alvarez said that several witnesses told officers that a possible gunman was seen fleeing east along the railroad tracks towards Parkway Drive.
No arrests have been. A motive for the shooting was not immediately clear. A suspect description was not available.
