Man shot in driveway while working on his car. But he’s being uncooperative, police say

Fresno police are investigating a shooting Saturday night after a man was shot in his driveway.

Fresno police Lt. Jerardo Chamalbide said officers arrived at a residence near East Dakota and North Maple avenues where they found a male shot in the torso area.

Calls of shots fired came around 8:15 p.m.

The victim told police he was working on his vehicle in his driveway when someone allegedly shot him.

The victim, an Asian male approximately 35 years old, was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. Police say his injuries are non-life threatening but the man was being uncooperative.

The victim is believed to be an alleged gang member.

Detectives have located evidence in the roadway and multiple shell casings were found in the roadway in front on the driveway.

There is no information on the suspects. It is unclear unsure if the shooting was a drive-by or if someone might have walked up, police say.

Police say the man was previously shot at this location a while back and was uncooperative as well.
