A 31-year-old Lindsay man was arrested after deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office found him planting marijuana seeds outside his home.

Cristian Morfin was taken into custody at a property on Road 216 in Lindsay following an investigation into complaints at two locations in Lindsay. Neighbors had complained of suspicious traffic and the smell of marijuana, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office.

Deputies found 4,577 marijuana plants in an olive orchard and on the property. Between the two properties, more than 5,000 plants were found and destroyed.

Morfin was also found with a rifle, three handguns, large capacity magazines and $11,000. He faces multiple charges, including maintaining a residence for drug use/sales, cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of forged documents and possession of a large capacity magazine.
