He faces 108 years after woman slain, child sexually assaulted
A Tulare County man faces 108 years in prison, or life, after he was convicted in the murder of a Visalia woman.
Hector Gonzalez, 53, was found guilty Tuesday in the slaying of Krickett Enriguez, 32, and the sexual assault of a child, the Tulare County District Attorney reported Wednesday.
The sexual assaults occurred between Feb. 13, 2010, and Oct. 30, 2014 on a victim age 10-14, who was not related to him, the release said.
On Jan. 1, 2016, a missing persons report was filed in the case of Enriquez, and her body was found in a car covered by a tarp. She had been stabbed 21 times.
Gonzalez was found in a nearby apartment. He had been bailed out of jail on sexual assault charges when Enriquez was slain.
Sentencing is set for May 3.
