Man shot and killed in southwest Fresno, about a half-mile from Edison High

A man was shot Thursday night in southwest Fresno, about a half-mile west of Edison High. Officers arrived around 9:15 p.m. at the scene near Atchison and Plumas streets, where they performed CPR on the victim in the middle of the road.

A man is dead after a shooting Thursday night in southwest Fresno, about a half-mile west of Edison High.

Just before 9 p.m., Fresno Police received multiple calls of shots being fired near Atchison and Plumas streets.

While responding to the scene, officers found a man in his 20s lying on the north side of Atchison with a gun shot wound to his upper-body, according to Lt. Larry Bowlan. Police said three to five shots were fired.

Officers and medical personal performed CPR on the victim at the scene. He was taken Community Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers are currently searching the area for evidence or witnesses to the shooting.

There is no information on the suspect just yet or what led to the shooting.
