Fresno County man gets 2 years in prison in rooster fighting case

A Fresno County man Monday was sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in a large-scale rooster fighting enterprise in federal court.

Thomas Lee Crow, 49, was also fined $5,500 and forfeited $22,800 in the case presided over by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill.

The case developed out of a law enforcement raid on his property in rural Fresno County.

That raid took place after Crow was found at a fighting event in Kerman. Deputies recovered more than 129 roosters at the event, 28 of the birds dead. Also recovered was fighting equipment and paraphernalia.
