Teen shot in alley in Fresno County, police say

A teen was taken to the hospital after he was shot Tuesday evening in Selma, according to Selma police Sgt. Terry Reid.

The 18-year-old was in an alleyway near Locust and Evergreen streets around 6 p.m. when he was shot once in the lower body.

He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. He is from Selma, Reid said.

Police have not named any suspects, and Reid said it is not known if the shooting is gang related.
