Mexican national pleads guilty to distributing 15 pounds of meth
A Mexican national pleaded guilty on Monday to federal charges of possession and distributing of 15 pounds of methamphetamine, according to U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott.
Court documents say Oscar Iran Salazar-Avalos, 28, and co-defendant Jose Manuel Sotelo-Mendoza, 26, of Ceres delivered 15 pounds of the drug to an undercover agent in Delano for $3,400 a pound.
Salazar is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 19 and faces a minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a possible life term, along with a $10 million fine.
