‘Very polite bandit’ suspect apologized after pointing gun at victims, Fresno police say

A man dubbed as the “very polite bandit” was arrested after a series of business robberies in October, Fresno police report.

According to Lt. David Madrigal, Bryan Onyegegbu is responsible for robberies at a Chevron, a Little Caesars and a Walgreens in October.

Onyegegbu, 31, had a habit of apologizing to his victims after pointing a semi-automatic handgun at them during the robberies, Madrigal said.

“I’m sorry, I’ve got kids to feed,” reportedly was one of his standard lines.

Police ran Onyegegbu to ground after witnesses followed him from one of the robberies, used surveillance video, and also obtained DNA evidence, Madrigal said.
