A Norteno gang associate was booked on charges of false imprisonment and sexual assault charges Monday after Parlier police arrested the man, Christopher Gheen, following a standoff in the 500 block of Oak Street.

A police spokesman said officers were sent to a house on the street about 4 a.m. in response to a 911 call. The victim said that Gheen, 36, was holding her against her will with a firearm. When she was able to break free, the victim told the officers that she had been sexually assaulted.

Officers learned that Gheen was on felony probation for auto theft and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

When he did not surrender, officers were assisted by the crisis negotiating team from the Fresno County Sheriff Office to convince him to come out of the house.
