Man booked in shooting of Madera sheriff’s deputy
Luis Alberto Maravilla, 39, was identified as the gunman who shot and wounded a Madera County Sheriff’s deputy Sunday night.
Maravilla was booked on charges of attempted mudrer of a peace officer, criminal threats, domestic battery and other charges. The shooting took place in the 28000 block of Avenue 15 3/4 about 9 p.m. as the sheriff’s sergeant drove to a report of a domestic violence incident.
Sgt. Mike Pace, a 28-year veteran was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and released.
