Suspected DUI causes three hit-run wrecks, Visalia police say. Two involve injuries
A 23-year-old driver is in jail for causing two injury hit-and-run traffic collisions in which alcohol or drugs were involved, as well as causing a third hit-run incident in which no one was hurt, Visalia police said.
About 10:05 p.m. Saturday, police received a report of an injury hit-and-run traffic collision in the area of Ben Maddox Way and Noble Avenue in east Visalia.
About two minutes later, a second injury hit-and-run traffic collision was reported in the area of Lovers Lane and Mineral King Avenue, not far from the previous collision.
Right after that, the driver of a vehicle who was following the suspect vehicle called police to report it was in the area of Douglas Avenue and Palm Street.
Police soon arrived and conducted an enforcement stop.
Police said the driver was responsible for both hit-and-run collisions, but officers also learned that a third collision had occurred at Pinkham Street and Noble Avenue that resulted in property damage only. That collision is still under investigation.
Henry Raygoza Jr. of Dinuba was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-trail Facility on suspicion of felony DUI, and felony hit-and-run.
The occupants of the two other vehicles suffered minor to moderate injuries and are expected to recover, police said.
