Police find trail of blood that leads to empty parking stall in central Fresno

A man was shot at an apartment complex in central Fresno on Sunday afternoon, leaving a trail of blood in the parking lot, according to police Lt. Bill Dooley.

Police arrived to Fruit Avenue near Ashlan Avenue around 2 p.m. and found several shell casings and a blood trail that led to an empty parking stall, Dooley said. Everyone involved had left the scene.

Around 3:30 p.m., police discovered a man in his 20s had been dropped off at Community Regional Medical Center by someone after being shot at the complex. The wound is not life-threatening, Dooley said.

The man allegedly told police that he was at the complex and heard gunfire before being shot.
