Clovis police seek man they say shot his girlfriend multiple times

Clovis police are searching for a man they say shot his girlfriend of 16 years multiple times late Saturday in what appears to be a case of domestic violence.

Police received several calls about a shooting in the area of Villa and Sierra Avenues shortly after 10 p.m., where 32-year-old Bernardo Madueno and his girlfriend lived together. They have four children.

The callers reported a woman was bleeding in the street. She was transported by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment and was in fair condition Sunday afternoon.

Police recovered a gun believed to have been used in the shooting. Madueno is believed to have fled the scene in a 1990s four-door white Toyota Camry with an uknown license plate number before police arrived.
