17-year-old arrested with loaded .40 caliber pistol in southwest Fresno
A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested following a traffic stop in southwest Fresno after police reported that he was armed with a .40 caliber S&W pistol.
Sgt. Antonio Rivera said officers pulled over a Blue 1998 Acura about 10 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of California and Plumas avenues because a rear brake light was not working.
One of the adults in the front of the car was on probation for illegal possession of a firearm. When the three, including the juvenile in the back of the car were searched, the firearm was discovered in the juvenile’s waistband.
The weapon was also loaded with a high-capacity magazine capable of carrying 15 rounds. Rivera said the three were west Fresno gang members.
