A camera caught a Valley man being stuffed into his car by two men. Was he kidnapped?
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alarming case of possible kidnapping.
A man was seen on store surveillance video being stuffed into the back seat of his own car Saturday at a gas station in Cutler, located at the 40300 block of Road 128.
Witnesses told deputies that they believed a kidnapping had just taken place.
The alleged kidnapped man was pushed into his car — a 2007 Nissan Versa with license plates 7XWY131 — by men who drove up to the gas station in a black lifted Nissan Titan truck, the sheriff’s office said. The truck reportedly had black wheels, tinted windows and “Discount Auto” paper plates.
Two men got out of the truck then confronted the third man before pushing him into the back seat of the Nissan Versa. Both vehicles were driven south on Road 128 toward Visalia, the sheriff’s office said. A short time later, the kidnapped man’s car was found abandoned about 1 1/2 miles in a rural area near Avenue 392 and Road 128.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact detetive Brandon VanCuren or Sgt. Gary Marks at the sheriff’s office at 559-733-6218.
