Women arrested in connection with Fresno store robbery
Three women were booked on robbery charges in connection with a shoplifting incident that escalated into a robbery Wednesday, Fresno police reported.
The incident occurred at Fallas Discount Store in the 4100 block of North West Avenue. A police spokesman identified the women as Destiny Davis, 18, Janaiah Jackson, 18, and Javon Waldrop, 27.
Police went to the store after a commercial robbery was reported. The spokesman said three women went into the business and began putting merchandise in handbags before running to the parking lot. When they were confronted by a store security officer, the three attacked the employee and one woman threatened the employee with a stun gun.
The three then jumped into a black Mercedes and fled south on West Avenue. Officers saw the car in a nearby neighborhood and the three were taken into custody.
