Suspect in Westamerica bank robbery in Easton arrested
Fresno County sheriff’s detectives used surveillance video to identify a man suspected of robbing a Westamerica bank in Easton in March, spokesman Tony Botti said Thursday.
Lewis Duncan Tyler, 49, of Fresno, was booked into Fresno County Jail.
An March 9, a man wearing a black and white mask and a wig entered the bank in the 5700 block of South Elm Avenue and put a handgun on the counter. He demanded a teller put cash in a duffel bag. Once he had the money, the bandit ran from bank the toward a field.
Detectives arrested Tyler at his workplace, International Recycling, in the 3200 block of South Golden State Boulevard. A gun believed to be the robbery weapon was recovered.
