Sheriff deputies found a home with nearly 4,000 marijuana plants. A wanted felon was inside
A Prather man who was wanted by authorities is in Fresno County Jail after deputies arrested him on suspicion of 18 felony charges, the sheriff’s office said Monday.
Daniel Ferrell, 58, was found at his home on the 32000 block of Whispering Springs Lane on Saturday. The California Highway Patrol and the U.S. Forest Service helped the sheriff’s office search for him.
Inside the home, deputies found 18 loaded weapons. Some of them had been illegally modified, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. A ballistic vest and ammunition was also discovered along with methamphetamine.
Ferrell also faces a misdemeanor charge after deputies found 3,766 marijuana plants being grown inside the home. The sheriff’s office said Ferrell had wired the home’s electrical meter to avoid paying the electrical charges from growing the marijuana. Pacific Gas and Electric was alerted about the wiring.
The sheriff’s office asked anyone with additional information on Ferrell to contact them at 559-600-3111 or to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
