He was jaywalking, now he’s charged with drug sales
A man who was stopped by police for jaywalking early Monday wound up under arrest for sales of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine, police in southeast Fresno reported.
He was identified as Edward Andrew Williams, 56. Sgt. Martin van Overbeek said officers were near First and Tulare streets about 12:25 a.m. when they say Williams cross First between intersections and stopped him. They discovered he was on probation for sales of narcotics, and a search revealed he was carrying packaged marijuana, a drug scale and methamphetamine. He was booked into Fresno County Jail.
