Gang members arrested for drugs, gun possession while hiding out in vacant home

Three gang members were arrested Friday night after police found they’d allegedly broken into a vacant southeast Fresno home while in possession of a gun and crystal methamphetamine.

Police received a call about 10 p.m. from a concerned neighbor who said he saw trespassers inside a boarded-up home on the 4500 block of East Turner Avenue. Officers who responded to the call noticed recent damage to the home and began searching inside, where they found three men hiding in a back room.

The men were identified as Xue Vang, 27, Boon Thao, 25, and Kue Vang, 33 — each of them members of an Asian criminal street gang.

Officers found Thao in possession of two grams of crystal meth. Vang, who initially lied to police about his name, had two felony warrants for his arrest. A loaded gun not registered to any of the suspects was also found and recovered, police said.

The trio was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail for multiple weapons charges.
