Armed robbery investigation yields two arrests
Fresno police investigating a recent armed robbery arrested two men Wednesday, after serving a search warrant at a home in the 2500 block of Selland Avenue.
The department’s Southwest Special Response Team arrested 32-year-old Fresno resident Montray Skinner at his home.
The robbery happened the early afternoon of Jan. 13 at a residence in the 300 block of N. Valeria Street. Police believe Montray Skinner forced a 46-year-old man into a carport at gun point, tied his hands with zip ties, and stole his property. The suspect allegedly left in a vehicle with a woman who was driving, until their car crashed into another vehicle. They were last seen fleeing on foot.
Montray Skinner was at home Wednesday with two men and two children when officers served the warrant. He was arrested without incident.
While searching the home, officers found two firearms – including a loaded semi-automatic handgun with a high capacity magazine matching the robbery weapon. The other gun was a loaded semi-automatic rifle with a high capacity magazine. Plus a holster and several cases of ammunition was found.
Police believe the rifle and ammunition belonged to Antonio Skinner, Montray Skinner’s cousin. He was arrested on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a rifle and ammunition.
A Six Deuce Diamond Crip gang member, Montray Skinner has been charged by the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office for the alleged armed robbery.
