Report of kidnapping attempt at Fresno bus stop proves unfounded
A report that a man in a vehicle attempted to abduct two young students near Central High East High School Wednesday morning turned out to be unfounded, Fresno police reported.
Officers initially went to North Cornelia and West Dakota avenues early Wednesay to investigate the incident. Several hours later, Lt. Joe Gomez said video cameras in the area were checked by officers, who determined that the incident did not take place.
It was not known why the students made the report, but it is possible that the driver of the vehicle may have shouted something at the students, causing them to become frightened, Gomez said.
