If you’re planning on taking the party to the park, you may want to reconsider.

Visalia police conducted an operation on Jan. 23 to target alcohol consumption at off-sales sites and public parks, said Sgt. Gerrit De Jong in a news release.

Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., five parks and 21 sites were checked by police. Of those sites, one person was cited for possessing open alcoholic beverage containers in public and another person was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Funding for the program is provided by a grant from the California Department of California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
