Tips lead to Fresno man’s arrest
Fresno police on Friday arrested a gang member accused of several gun related offenses.
Officers Ramon Ruiz and Nicolas Romero received tips from neighbors about a man who lived in the 400 block of North Yosemite Avenue. After investigating, police contacted Matthew Parker at his home, according to a police press release from Fresno police Sgt. Leonard Cabrera.
Parker allegedly told officers he had a gun in his bedroom, and after giving them permission to enter the home, he was arrested. Parker has an extensive criminal history and was recently released from parole for gun possession and drug offenses, Cabrera said in the release.
Officers allegedly found a 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun Parker said was to use against rival gang members. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
