920 chickens killed at Foster Farms’ Caruthers ranch
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Ag Task Force is asking for the public’s help in finding the people who killed 920 chickens at a Foster Farms ranch in Caruthers.
The chickens were killed on Sept. 20, shortly before 8:30 a.m. at the Foster Farms chicken ranch at 3691. W. Swanson Ave.
Investigators say the suspects pulled back a portion of the fence and entered one of the chicken sheds. Once inside, the suspects used a golf club and possibly some other type of instrument to kill the birds.
Foster Farms officials are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible. The loss of the chickens is estimated at $5,000.
