A man on parole for robbery was arrested Tuesday in southeast Fresno during a parole compliance check after officers found he was concealing a shotgun in his pants, police reported.

He was identified as Arturo Gonzalez, 21. Officers from the MAGEC anti-gang unit were in the area of Peach and Olive avenues when they encountered Gonzalez and learned he was on parole, a police spokesman said. Gonzalez also carried shotgun shells in his pocket.
