Sanger man jailed for allegedly fondling teen girl
A 33-year-old man was arrested in Sanger for allegedly fondling a teenage girl, police said.
Sanger police arrested Roberto Tomas Romero after the alleged crime was reported to them Monday afternoon, Chief Silver Rodriguez said.
Romero knew the 15-year-old victim through a family member and was at her home Sunday night. After her mother went to sleep, Romero entered the daughter’s room and “fondled” her, Rodriguez said.
The daughter told her mom on Monday what occurred.
Romero also had a warrant out for his arrest for driving without a license and DUI.
He was booked into Fresno County Jail on Monday for the warrant, suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts, sexual battery and false imprisonment. He remained in jail Tuesday on $135,000 bail.
