Man in suspicious death identified, autopsy reveals he died of natural causes
A man found dead on the side of the road outside of Fresno earlier this week has been identified as Vance Buckman, 60, of Fresno, and the coroner determined he died of natural causes.
A driver reported a man lying on the side of the road to the sheriff’s office about 7 a.m. Tuesday near West California and South Brawley Avenues. At first, investigators believed he was hit by a car and called it a suspicious death.
After an autopsy, the coroner determined Buckman’s injuries were not consistent with being struck by any sort of object, and that he died of natural causes.
