Drivers report two more random shootings. Detectives need help identifying suspects
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has received two more reports of random shootings on public roadways, bringing the total to six with one injury. The Fresno and Madera counties sheriff’s offices released information on the first four incidents on Friday.
The sheriff’s office updated the cases Tuesday afternoon with the following:
▪ On Dec. 1, a vehicle traveling on North Dickenson Avenue, near West Shields Avenue, was struck by bullets around 3:30 p.m. No one was injured.
▪ On Dec. 11, a vehicle traveling in the area of South Dickenson and West Church avenues was struck around 5 p.m. No one was injured.
The other shootings happened between Nov. 27 and Dec. 7 in Fresno and Madera counties. In each case, the victims said they heard loud bangs as a vehicle passed them heading the opposite direction. Detectives do not have a clear description of the suspects or their vehicles.
The Fresno Sheriff’s office, Madera County Sheriff’s detectives and California Highway Patrol officers are investigating. The agencies encourage drivers to pay attention to their surroundings and to immediately report dangerous situations.
