Two southwest Fresno gang members were arrested Sunday in connection with a robbery at a California Avenue market the previous day, police reported.

Sgt. Mike Gebhart identified the men as brothers Vaughn McGaskey, 23, and Eric McGaskey, 19. The victim was robbed at Zack’s Market after multiple suspects pulled up to the store in a white vehicle. Two of the suspects, one armed with a handguun, confronted and searched the victim, taking a wallet and a gold chain.

Gebhart said officers reviewing surveillance video identified one bandit as Vaughn McGaskey. Sunday, officers spotted the suspect vehicle near Lilly and Church avenues and detained Eric McGaskey, who had just left a nearby home. The officers found Vaughn McGaskey inside the house. Eric McGaskey, wearing the stolen gold chain, was identified as the man behind the wheel during the robbery and Vaughn McGaskey as the gunman. Both were booked into Fresno County Jail.
