Fresno man arrested in sex-crime investigations, some dating back more than 30 years
A 76-year-old Fresno man has been arrested on child molestation allegations involving two potential victims, one who is still a teenager and another now an adult.
Fresno police received a report in June that Alfred Liddell possibly molested a 16-year-old girl, but the victim didn’t provide evidence of a crime, Sgt. Israel Reyes said.
In November, additional information led investigators to believe Liddell had committed sexual assault. Police said they interviewed a 16-year-old girl who alleged that Liddell molested her the past six years.
Police identified what they believe is another victim, now an adult. The woman said Liddell molested her when she was a minor – more than 30 years ago.
Liddell, who is retired, was arrested Wednesday at his Fresno home, Reyes said.
The case was sent to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office for review. Liddell was held in Fresno County Jail on $205,000 bail on four felony counts.
