Are you missing any mail? Clovis police may have caught the thieves
Clovis police are working to contact 15 victims whose mail was stolen after a police officer caught two mail thieves on Thursday morning allegedly in the act.
The officer saw the theft before 6 a.m. at a community mailbox near Fowler and Alluvial avenues in Clovis. A man was breaking into the mailbox and then got into a black Ford Fusion driven by a woman.
The officer pulled over the couple and found a large amount of mail and packages from the area in the car.
Arnold Quintanilla Silva, 41, and Olivia Squaglia, 25, both of Fresno, were arrested. They were booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of identity theft, forgery, burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Clovis police are reminding residents to check and empty mailboxes daily to prevent similar thefts.
