Elderly couple pistol-whipped during home invasion
Fresno police are searching for two men suspected of pistol-whipping an elderly couple in their southeast Fresno apartment, tying them up and taking an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers were called to South Rogers Lane, behind the Wienerschnitzel at Clovis and Tulare avenues, around 10:10 a.m. Friday for a home invasion robbery involving a Hmong couple in their late 60s, said Lt. Mark Hudson.
The female victim told police that shortly after she and her husband walked into their apartment, a black man in a white T-shirt, blue jeans and bandana entered with a handgun. The man tied the couple up, Hudson said, while a Hispanic man entered and ransacked the apartment.
A neighbor came by to check on the couple and was confronted by the armed suspect who told her to come into the apartment, Hudson said. She refused and ran off. Then, the suspects left the apartment with the cash and got into a white four-door sedan.
The couple was treated at Community Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Anyone with information about the home invasion is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
