Dead body near vineyard identified, but autopsy finds no signs of injury
A man found dead on the side of the road in Fresno County has been identified as 50-year-old Douglas Erickson of Clovis.
Erickson was found by workers about 2:30 p.m. Friday near a vineyard in the area of Nebraska and Orange avenues west of Selma. He was wearing a sweatshirt, pants and sneakers. The workers believed he was injured and called for help.
Firefighters found Erickson dead and Fresno County sheriff’s deputies called homicide detectives to investigate a possible questionable death. The coroner’s office did an autopsy Saturday and found no signs of injury. The cause of death is pending the results of toxicology tests.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call Detective Adrian Villegas at 559-600-8210, or CrimeStoppers at 559-498-7867.
