Police are looking for suspects after two cars were involved in a “rolling gun battle” in west Fresno on Sunday afternoon, Lt. Mike Brogdon said.

Police were called to the area near Cornelia and Donner avenues around 2 p.m. after getting reports of shots fired.

Officers found multiple bullet casings at the scene and soon located a vehicle that matched descriptions at a nearby apartment complex. The car had bullet holes in it. While they were investigating, officers saw a woman who was bleeding leaving the complex. She denied being involved in the shooting. Her injury was consistent with a gun shot wound and she was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, Brogdon said.

Officers then followed a blood trail from the car to an apartment, but nobody was inside, Brogdon said.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.
