A man in his 20s was shot Wednesday as he pumped gas at a Valero gas station west of Highway 99 in Fresno, and police are looking for the shooter.

Lt. Joe Gomez said the shooter emerged from a car wash about 10:45 a.m. at the gas station at Ashlan Avenue and Parkway Drive and shot the victim before fleeing. The victim’s injuries were described as non-lethal.

Although Gomez said it’s unclear whether the shooting is gang-related, “this is not a random shooting” as the victim and shooter are believed to have some kind of relationship.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned African American or Hispanic man, wearing a blue hoodie with white writing and black basketball shorts.
