Fresno man accused of raping unconscious teen at house party
A 20-year-old Fresno man is accused of raping a teen girl at a house party last week while she was unconscious, Fresno police said.
John Chang was arrested and booked into jail on Thursday on suspicion of rape, oral copulation and sexual penetration with a foreign object. He remained in Fresno County Jail on $135,000 bail on Friday, booking records show.
Chang and the 16-year-old victim were at a house party Saturday night in northeast Fresno with mutual friends drinking alcohol, police Sgt. Israel Reyes said.
“Both individuals appeared to be intoxicated, and sometime in the evening Chang sexually assaulted the 16-year-old victim,” Reyes said.
The victim slipped in and out of consciousness.
The next morning, the victim told her mother, who reported the incident to police.
Police conducted surveillance of Chang and followed him after he left a residence on Thursday. Police stopped Chang during a traffic stop, and he was arrested without incident, Reyes said.
