Off-duty officer draws gun on pipe-wielding woman at gas station, but doesn’t shoot
Visalia police on Monday had no explanation as to why a pipe wielding, 55-year-old woman confronted an off-duty officer at the Valero gas station/convenience store at Caldwell Avenue and Mooney Boulevard.
Sgt. Damon Maurice said the off-duty officer was with a young family member when Pamela Greenwood, armed with a pipe, allegedly made threats to the officer shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday.
Greenwood was about to swing the pipe when the officer, who was not identified, drew a firearm and told her to stop, Maurice said. Greenwood was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making threats.
Maurice said police don’t know why Greenwood, who lives in Visalia, threatened the officer since they had no previous contact between them.
