Man arrested in recent Tipton shooting
The shooting of a woman about three weeks ago has led to the arrest of a man in Tipton, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.
Ralph Villanueva Ortega, 25, of Tipton, was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday after being pulled over.
During the traffic stop, deputies identified him as the suspect in the wounding of a 22-year-old woman in Tipton in the early-morning hours of July 27, 2017.
No new details of the shooting were released, but a media report at that time said the woman was a passenger in a car parked at a gas station pump.
Detectives served a search warrant at Ortega’s home, where authorities said three more men were arrested after being found to have active warrants.
All of those arrested were booked at the Adult Pre Trial Facility. Ortega faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and participating in a criminal street gang.
