A cyclist remains in serious condition after he was injured Tuesday when a group of riders were struck by a motorcycle northeast of Fresno.

Lou Major, 43, was in serious condition Thursday while two other cyclists were upgraded to fair condition since the Tuesday crash, said Community Medical Centers spokeswoman Mary Lisa Russell.

Major, along with Kevin Emerzian, 57, and Richard Gabel, 36, were all thrown from their bicycles just after 6 p.m. along northbound Auberry Road. They were taken to Community Regional with major injuries.

The motorcyclist, Patrick Holmes, 63, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for alleged drunken driving. He faces two felony charges and is suspected of driving into the cyclists when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

His bail was set at $47,000. Jail records show he was out of custody as of Thursday.
