Two Visalia men kicked in the front door of a Corcoran home and beat a woman and man inside before police stopped them and found two explosive devices in their possession, according to Corcoran police reports.

Police say Vincent Viscarra and Adolfo Tellez kicked in the door of a home in the 1800 block of Dairy Avenue on Saturday afternoon and struck a woman in the head with a handgun before robbing the place.

The woman managed to reach her boyfriend, who also was assaulted by Viscarra and Tellez, police said.

Police officers arrived at the home and stopped the men’s vehicle as they were trying to leave. When the officers searched inside the vehicle they found an explosive resembling a pipe bomb, a Molotov cocktail and a gun from the couple’s home.

Corcoran police called the Tulare County Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team and they were able to remove the devices.

Injuries to the couple were not considered serious.

Viscarra, 26, and Tellez, 24, were booked into Kings County Jail on suspicion of robbery, burglary, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of destructive devices and a street gang enhancement. Bail is set at $360,000 for each.
