A Visalia man was sentenced Friday to 40 years in prison for molesting one child after pleading no contest to 17 counts of lewd acts, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said.

Eliot Garcia, 31, pleaded no contest on June 16 to the charges, which included special allegations of substantial sexual conduct, the district attorney’s office said.

Garcia committed the crimes between September and December 2016 with a single victim, said the district attorney’s office.

He will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
