He admits stabbing his roommate to death, but police still don’t know why
Madera police identified the man arrested in the stabbing death of his roommate Saturday night.
Police were called about 6 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of South D Street to find a man who officers said confessed to stabbing the Pablo Lopez Sanchez, 51, of Madera. He died at the scene after he was repeatedly stabbed.
When officers arrived they were met by a Jesus Odilon Vasquez, 34, of Madera, who confessed to stabbing Sanchez. Police said they confirmed Vasquez’s identity on Sunday.
Vasquez was booked into the Madera County Corrections facility on suspicion of murder charges.
Police are continuing their investigation, seeking a motive behind the stabbing.
