A man and woman get shot, and police say 74-year-old pulled the trigger

A 74-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after police say he shot a man and a woman in Porterville on Monday.

Harry Sprague of Porterville was arrested shortly after police arrived at the 700 block of East Worth Avenue and found a 48-year-old man with a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk. Police also found a 49-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.

Sprague allegedly shot the two with a .357 magnum revolver during an altercation, said Porterville police.

Both were taken to a trauma center where they are listed in stable condition.

Sprague’s bail is set at $1 million.
