One shot as man tries to force his way into Fresno home
An apparent dispute led to one person being shot after another man tried to force his way into a home Friday night, Fresno police reported.
Police said the suspect, believed to be in his mid-20s, tried to force his way inside a home with three people inside on Crystal Avenue and Dayton Avenue in central Fresno.
A 54-year-old man inside closed the door on the assailant, but a shot was fired through the door with the older man hit in the upper torso, Lt. Stephan Viveros said.
The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening, Viveros said. The suspect fled in a silver compact car with another person driving.
It was believed late Friday that the suspect knew at least one of the people at the home, but the case remained under investigation.
