Man arrested as suspect in 8 robberies, 2 burglaries

A man was arrested in connection with eight robberies and two burglaries at cell-phone stores and pizza parlors, Fresno Police Sgt. James Fowler said Friday.

Eric Johnson, 50, is accused in incidents that stretched from August 2016 to February 2017. The suspect frequently was described as using a handgun and wearing brightly colored wigs and glasses.

After identifying Johnson as a suspect, police staked out his home in Modesto and he was arrested there without incident.

Johnson was booked at Fresno County Jail.
