Body found in orchard near Selma is identified as Orange Cove man

The man whose body was found in a grape vineyard by a farmworker near Selma on Thursday was identified Friday by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Steven Robinson, 21, of Orange Cove.

Robinson’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

An autopsy found injuries consistent with homicide, the coroner’s office said, but specific details of those injuries were not provided.

The farmworker discovered the body about 1:45 pm Thursday and called authorities.

Fresno County Sheriff’s Office investigators said they didn’t known when or how Robinson’s body got to the site, near Mountain View and Bethel avenues.

Anyone with information about the body is asked to call detective Juan Galindo at 559-600-8215 or Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP (7867). Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
