Two men who robbed a Dollar General near closing time suspected in gas station heist

Fresno County sheriff’s detectives believe that two men who took part in an armed robbery with a shotgun on Thursday are likely the same men who robbed a Caruthers convenience store in February.

Video shows the two men wearing jeans, sweat shirts and masks to cover their faces in both robberies.

The robbery on Thursday was at the Dollar General store, 13248 S. Henderson Ave. at 9:45 p.m..

One of the men ordered money from the store safe and cash register. Upon getting the money, they left.

It looks like the same guys, maybe even the same rifle.

The previous robbery was Feb. 2 at about 9 p.m., at the Valero gas station in the 2400 block of West Tahoe Avenue in Caruthers.

“It looks like it may be the same guys,” said Tony Botti, sheriff’s spokesman, “maybe even the same rifle.”

Anyone with information about the two assailants are asked to call Fresno County sheriff’s Detective Carl Chalmers at 559-600-8174 or Crime Stoppers, 559-498-STOP (7867) to remain anonymous.
